KOROR, Palau (1 Apr 2008) — Authorities have called off the search for a tourist who disappeared while scuba diving in Palau.

Hong Tu Tyo, a Korean national on holiday in Palau, went missing at Turtle Cove on a dive trip promoted and sold by Sea World Dive Center.

Although Sea World Dive Center declined to comment on the accident, Ellender Ngirameketii of Palau's Division of Marine Law Enforcement (DMLE) said officials believe that Tyo is dead.

Tyo disappeared on Saturday while scuba diving with nine other Korean divers.

Police said the accident is under investigation.
