SCAPA FLOW, Orkney Islands, Scotland (7 Apr 2008)Police have identified a scuba diver feared dead after he disappeared while scuba diving at Scapa Flow.

Police identified the missing diver as Steven Darren Ottewell, 38, of Cuddington, Cheshire.

Ottewell was diving off the dive boat Karin at the Markgraf wreck with a friend when something went wrong.

His buddy surfaced and alerted the dive boat crew who called authorities to report a missing diver emergency.

Shetland Coastguard launched a search that involved lifeboats from Hoy and Stromness and at least one rescue helicopter.

The search has been hampered by gale force winds and high waves.
