SCAPA FLOW, Orkney Islands, Scotland (11 Apr 2008) — The search has been called off for a scuba diver who went missing while exploring a wreck at Scapa Flow.

Steven Ottewell, 38, disappeared at the site of the 40m-deep Markgraf shipwreck last Saturday morning at about 10:50am.

Shetland Coastguard launched a massive air and sea search that involved lifeboats and helicopters, but no trace of the missing diver was found.

Ottewell is presumed dead and the search will not be resumed according to Northern Constabulary.
