Body of missing French diver recovered

COUNTY MAYO, Ireland (11 Apr 2008) — The body of a French diver who went missing off the west coast has been recovered.

Authorities declined to identify the diver pending notification of kin, but confirmed the victim is a male of French nationality in his early 20s.

The diver's buddy reported him missing at about 8:30pm on Wednesday evening.

The divers were in Clew Bay near Westport, Co Mayo when the accident happened.
