TURTLE ISLAND, Fiji (15 May 2008) — Police are investigating the death of a man who was killed by a shark while diving off Turtle Island in Fiji.

Aisake Sadole, 28, had injuries on his face, arm and left leg consistent with a shark attack.

Authorities told CDNN the shark attack victim was night diving with six other divers in Yasawa waters near Turtle Island, a popular scuba diving destination.

The divers entered the water off Turtle Island at about 9pm.

When the other divers realized Sadole was missing, they launched a search and found his body after several hours.

The shark attack victim was taken to Lautoka Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Hospital officials said he died from loss of blood due to the shark bite.
