HONOLULU, Hawaii (18 June 2008) — A customer of an Oahu-based scuba diving and snorkeling operator died after an accident off Ko Olina Resort.

Authorities have not yet identified the 62-year-old female diving victim who apparently drowned while snorkeling off Aliinui Drive off Ko Olina Golf Course.

Witnesses said the woman was found unconscious and face down at the ocean's surface about 1pm.

Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident and took the woman to Hawaii Medical Center West where she was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the accident and an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
