MORETON, Australia (29 June 2008) — A hit and run boat severely injured a diver in Moreton Bay.
Police told CDNN the 65-year-old Brookfield man suffered severe leg and internal injures after the boat hit him near Flinders Reef, a popular scuba diving destination off Brisbane.
The victim was diving with a friend who helped bring him back to their dive boat.
Witnesses said a doctor from another boat in the area treated the victim's injuries until he was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
Police investigating the hit and run accident have interrogated three men who were allegedly aboard the boat that hit the diver.
