SAN DIEGO, California (21 July 2008) — The U.S. Coast Guard airlifted a man to hospital after he was injured while scuba diving off the Coronado Islands.

Authorities declined to identify the 25-year-old scuba diving accident victim and his condition is unknown.

Rescue officials said the injured diver was hoisted aboard a helicopter at about 11:00am and taken to the Coast Guard station across from Lindbergh Field.

He was then moved to an ambulance and taken to UCSD Medical Center.
