Scuba diving accident kills tourist in Croatia

SPLIT, Croatia (19 Aug 2008) — A tourist died while scuba diving off Pag Island near Stara Novalja.

Police have not yet released the identity of the scuba diving accident victim, a Czech national on holiday in Croatia.

Authorities said the accident is under investigation and an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Croatia is a popular scuba diving destination for Czech divers.
