Maui diving accidents kill two California tourists

LAHAINA, Maui (25 Sep 2008) — Two tourists from California drowned while diving in Maui in separate accidents.
Police told CDNN that Donald Maggini, 55, from Napa, was pulled aboard a boat after he was found floating unconscious at the surface.
Paramedics called to the scene of the accident at about 11:00am rushed Maggini to Maui Memorial Medical Center but he never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
In a separate accident, Timothy Raggio, from Palmdale, drowned while snorkeling off the Sheraton Maui.
Paramedics and fire-rescue personnel rushed Raggio to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Autopsies will be performed to determine the cause of both deaths.
