PERTH, Austalia (27 Dec 2008) — A diver is missing and presumed dead after he was attacked by a great white shark.
Searchers found only shredded pieces of a wetsuite worn by Brian Guest, 51, who was diving with his son, Daniel, 24, when the shark attacked him near Rockingham, south of Perth.
Guest was a banker who loved the ocean and enjoyed diving and fishing during his free time.
Family and friends told authorities that Guest would not have wanted the shark killed.
"Brian wouldn't have wanted that. He spent many years diving and fishing and had a deep respect for the water - he knew the dangers," said friend Steve Kent at Guest's home near Perth.
