KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (29 Dec 2008) — A Canadia tourist died while scuba diving in Hawaii.
Catherine Hires, 48, died after she lost consciousness and stopped breathing while diving near the Kailua Pier.
The crew of the UFO Parasail boat brought Hires ashore and started CPR.
The Big Island Fire Department took over when they arrived but the woman never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at Kona Community Hospital.
Big Island police told CDNN the accident is under investigation.
