ANACORTES, Washington (23 Feb 2009) — A scuba diver who lost consciousness at depth was rushed to hospital after a scuba diving accident near Washington Park on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the 20-year-old male scuba diving accident victim.

Witnesses said a group of divers who were preparing to enter the water heard screams for help from another diver down the beach who was struggling to pull the victim ashore.

The group helped pull the unconscious diver ashore, started CPR and called 911 for help.

Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital where officials have not yet released information about the victim's condition.
