SEATTLE, Washington (4 May 2009) — A critically injured scuba diver in his mid-30s was rushed to Harborview Medical Center after another scuba diving accident in Elliott Bay.
Authorities told CDNN the scuba diving accident victim may have been participating in a scuba diving course when he ascended to the surface and then suddenly disappeared.
Other scuba divers started searching for the victim but 15 minutes elapsed before they found him at a depth of about 12 meters (40 feet).
Paramedics arrived at Bell Street Pier just after 9:00 am, started CPR and rushed the victim to Harborview Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
Police said the scuba diving accident is under investigation.
