Tuna Seazure dive boat customer airlifted to hospital

BARNEGAT, New Jersey (16 May 2009) — A diver who lost consciousness while scuba diving off the Tuna Seazure dive boat was airlifted to Atlantic City Medical Center.
Authorities told CDNN a Coast Guard crew performed CPR on the scuba diving accident victim, Gene White, 42, as he was airlifted to the Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic in Atlantic County.
From the Coast Guard station, White was transferred to the trauma center at Atlantic City Medical Center, City Division, Atlantic City.
Witnesses said White lost consciousness as he was resurfacing.
The Tuna Seazure is a six-pac dive boat based in Brielle, New Jersey.
Scuba diving accident victim, Gene Wite, 42, was airlifted off the Tuna Seazure dive boat and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Wite was diving with a Megaladon rebreather.
