ELEUTHERA, Bahamas (20 May 2009) — An American tourist died during a dive trip to Club Med beach just outside Governor's Harbour. Authorities told CDNN that David Anderson, 62, of Clarksville, Arkansas, collapsed and died as he exited the water with his daughter, Sarah Anderson-Mills. She said after her father collapsed, she pulled him ashore where bystanders and Anderson's wife, Kathy, started CPR and then carried him to a truck. The diving accident victim was taken to Levy Medical Clinic in Governor's Harbour, but never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at the medical facility. Authorities said the (non-scuba) diving accident is under investigation and the victim's body has been taken to Nassau for a post-mortem examination. Anderson was in the Bahamas to celebrate his 62nd birthday with family and friends including his wife Kathy; his daughter Sarah Anderson-Mills and her husband Steve and their two children, Caleb and Hannah; his son Christian and his wife Jennifer and their two children, Deagan and Griffin; and Jennifer's parents, Sue and Greg Olsen from San Jose, California. |
