Scuba diving accident kills Puerto Rico tourist

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — A man died while scuba diving in Puerto Rico off the island of Vieques near the airport.

A CDNN source in Puerto Rico said James H. Timber, 48, collapsed and died on the dive boat after completing his dive.

Timber was diving with a friend, Fabiola Aretes, a resident of Isla Verde, who said he complained that he felt "out of breath" after they resurfaced.

Paramedics responded to a call for help from the dive boat crew but when they arrived at the boat but it was too late.

Authorities said the body was taken to the Department of Forensic Sciences where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

CDNN was not able to determine the nationality of the scuba diving accident victim.
