Diver missing, presumed dead near Sicily

TRAPANI, Italy — A man who was diving near Sicily is missing and presumed dead.

Authorities told CDNN that Andrei Vasilii Popov, a 28-year-old Bulgarian national, disappeared while diving for coral off an unidentified commercial coral hunting vessel based in Spain.

The vessel was located about 102km west of the island of Marettimo when Popov was reported missing.

The prosecutor's office in Trapani said the accident is under investigation.
