PANAMA CITY, Florida — A wall and roof were damaged after a compressed air tank exploded at Panama City Dive and Ski Center.
Fire department officials said a large storage bank tank that is used to fill smaller scuba air cylinders exploded at about 4:00 pm knocking holes in the east wall and roof of the dive shop, which is located on Thomas Drive.
The force of the blast knocked other tanks out of the building, however, no one was injured by the blast.
Jerry McLendon, a co-owner of the business, said the tank was not overfilled and he did not know why it exploded.the proper amount of pressure in it."
