WIRRAL, UK — Another scuba diving accident at Dorothea Quarry left an injured man in hospital.
Authorities have not yet released the victim's name but said the 29-year-old diver resurfaced too quickly from a deep dive to 45 meters (150-ft).
An RAF rescue helicopter from Valley on Anglesey rushed the injured diver to hospital in Wirral.
Hospital officials have not yet released information about the victim's condition.
Dorothea Quarry is a popular scuba diving park where at least 22 divers have died and hundreds more have been injured since 1994.
Due to its poor safety record, local community leaders have criticized the scuba diving park as "problematic" and "dangerous".
Known as the "killer quarry" and "pool of death", in 2005 the facility was sold to a property developer that agreed to make changes aimed at reducing diver injuries and deaths.
Since 1994, at least 22 scuba divers have died and hundreds more have been injured while scuba diving at Dorothea "killer" Quarry.
