CEBU, Philippines — A tourist who was scuba diving off Lapu Lapu with Blue World Collection died from head injuries after she was hit by a boat propeller. Japanese national, Etsuko Kosaka, 52, of Ishikawa, died after she was hit by a boat while resurfacing with other divers in her group. She was rushed to Mactan Doctors Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Police said the fatal scuba diving accident is under investigation and have arrested Antonio Cahilig, the driver of the boat that hit Kosaka. According to unconfirmed reports, Blue World Collection failed to deploy dive flags or buoys to warn boaters that scuba divers were in the area. In March, two tourists from China died while scuba diving at Paradive HK Scuba Diving Resort near Olango Island. |
