PORT WASHINGTON, Wisconsin — A man died while scuba diving in Lake Michigan.

Authorities told CDNN that Phil J. Patz, 48, of Stone Park, Illinois, was diving in Wisconsin waters about 20 miles north of Milwaukee and about nine miles southeast of Port Washington.

About four hours after he failed to resurface, searchers found his body at a depth of about 300 feet.

Ozaukee County Sheriff's Department said details about the fatal scuba diving accident will not be released until they complete their investigation.

It is not known if an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
