KUALA TERENGGANU, Malaysia — The widow of a man who died while scuba diving received RM25,603 (US $7,250) in compensation.
Matziyah Mohd Ladar, 39, a teacher who resides in Kangar, Perlis, received the payment from Fire & Rescue Department deputy director-general Datuk Wan Mohd Nor Ibrahim.
Earlier, Matziyah and her three children received a payment of RM10,000 ($2,850).
Her husband, 41-year-old Aladi Hasan, a diver with the Terengganu Fire & Rescue Department diving squad, died on June 16 during a search and rescue operation at Kenyir Lake.
