SAN PEDRO, California — Two female divers are in hospital and listed in stable condition after a diving accident near L.A. Harbor.

The women were injured after they were hit by their own 27-ft boat.

Coast Guard officials said the operator of the boat called for help at about 3:15 pm after the accident.

Apparently the operator inadvertently bumped into the boat's throttles, which caused it to hit the women.

A Coast Guard rescue boat from Coast Guard Station Los Angeles and a rescue boat from Baywatch Cabrillo Beach responded to the emergency.

The injured divers were taken to Los Angeles City Fire Station 110 were paramedics were standing by.

They rushed the victims to Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance.

The Coast Guard urged boaters to maintain situational awareness, be careful of their surroundings, and follow good marine practices at all times.
