Diver airlifted to hospital after another Channel Diver accident

by LUTHER MONROE @ CDNN - Cyber Diver News Network

July 5, 2009

BRIGHTON, UK — A Coastguard rescue helicopter airlifted a woman to hospital after she was injured while scuba diving.

Authorities have not yet identified the 50-year-old victim, but told CDNN she was diving off the Channel Diver dive boat.

Witnesses said the woman was suffering from potentially fatal decompression sickness (the bends).

Solent Coastguard said the scuba diving accident victim was taken to a recompression chamber in Poole, Dorset.

Less than two weeks ago, a scuba diver who was using a rebreather disappeared while diving off the same dive boat.
