HONOLULU, Hawaii — A 16-year-old boy died while diving at Shark's Cove on Oahu's North Shore.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office have not released the name of the free diving accident victim but said friends found him unconscious below the surface of the water.

Paramedics with the City and County Emergency Medical Services rushed the teenager to a nearby hospital but he never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead soon after arrival at the medical facility.

Police said the accident is under investigation and suspect shallow water blackout as the cause of death.
