HOLLYWOOD, Florida — Police are investigating the death of a Florida man who apparently drowned while scuba diving alone. Authorities told CDNN that at about 9am this morning, lifeguards found the body of Richard J. Losz, 37, floating about 400 meters off the beach at 1301 S. Ocean Drive. They pulled him to shore where he was pronounced dead. According to Hollywood Police Lt. Many Marino, Losz was wearing a full set of scuba diving equipment including air tanks. Avid diver Known as "Rick" to his friends, Losz loved scuba diving and often dived alone at night. Police said there was no sign of trauma to the victim's body indicating that he was probably not hit by a boat. Investigators said they are trying to figure out how long Losz was in the water. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. |
