EASTERN CAPE, South Africa — A young man died while diving off Empani Point.

Authorities declined to identify the diving accident victim, but told CDNN a 25-year-old man apparently drowned while spearfishing with his father and brother.

Craig Lambinon of the National Sea Rescue Institute said a rescue helicopter responded to a call for help from the victim's father.

Searchers found the victim's body in the water and brought him to shore but it was too late and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The accident is under investigation to determine the cause of death.Zine George
