CAPE VILAN, Spain — Searchers recovered the body of a diver who disappeared off Cape Vilan on Friday.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the diving accident victim, but told CDNN a French national was diving with three friends when he failed to return to the group's boat.
The other divers called for help and maritime police launched an extensive air and sea search that included a helicopter, boat and a team of divers.
On Saturday, searchers found the victim and took the body to a hospital in La Coruna.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
Cape Vilan is located along Spain's rugged "Coast of Death" where many shipwrecks attract divers from around the world.
Another scuba diver was injured in Florida, America's most dangerous dive destination.
