SYDNEY, Australia — Police divers recovered the body of a man who disappeared while diving near Sydney.

Authorities told CDNN that Brian Lam, 31, of Blackhurst, went missing last Sunday while diving with three friends.

The other divers alerted officials to a missing diver emergency and police launched a search with a helicopter, boat and a team of police divers.

On Monday afternoon, a friend of the diving accident victim who joined the search spotted a body snagged on rocks at a depth of about 11 meters near Long Reef Point.

Police divers recovered the body about 300 meters from a boat ramp where Lam entered the water.

Police said the accident is under investigation and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
