Vietnam diving accident kills British man

NHA TRANG, Vietnam — A British diver is dead after a diving accident in Vietnam.

Authorities told CDNN that ex-Royal Navy diver, Robin Holbrook, 56, of Poole, died while contract diving some 60 miles off the coast of Vietnam.

An autopsy performed in Vietnam failed to determine the cause of death.

A second post-morten examination was carried out after Holbrook's body was flown back to the UK, however, the results have not yet been released.

Holbrook died just 10 days after attending the funeral of his brother, Pete Holbrook.

Family members, still grieving over the death of Pete Holbrook, said they were shocked by Robin's death.

"He had waited before going out to Vietnam because he wanted to be at his brother's funeral," said sister Jean Lucy, of White Rails Road, Wootton.

"Both brothers have left their mark on this earth in their own inimitable way and the world will always be a richer, better place for them having been part of it," said stepson, Mark Holbrook.

"These two fine brothers are a sad loss to the Island and worldwide friends alike."
