HONOLULU, Hawaii — A man died yesterday afternoon while scuba diving in Oahu.

Authorities have not yet identified the scuba diving accident victim but said the victim drowned after he encountered problems at a depth of about 30 meters (100 feet) off the Waianae Coast.

Companion divers pulled the victim into a boat and started CPR as they raced back to Waianae Small Boat Harbor where paramedics were standing by.

The paramedics took over at about 1:30 pm and rushed the victim to hospital but he never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at the medical facility.

Police are investigating the fatal scuba diving accident.
