MIAMI, Florida — A man died while diving with two friends off the coast of Miami-Dade County in Florida.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the diving accident victim but told CDNN a 24-year-old man died yesterday while exploring Brewster Reef with two friends.
The other two divers told police investigators the weather suddenly deteriorated forcing them to swim back to the boat in rough water.
As the divers struggled to surface swim back to the boat, the victim disappeared and apparently drowned.
The other two divers made it to the boat and contacted authorities who immediately launched a missing diver search.
Police said the victim's body was found about an hour after he was reported missing.
The fatal diving accident is under investigation by Miami-Dade County police homicide detectives.
Joseph Russo, a National Guard member employed by the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, died while snorkel diving off Singer Island.
