SAN DIEGO, California — Authorities are investigating a scuba diving accident that left a Humboldt dive boat customer in hospital.
U.S. Coast Guard officials told CDNN a crew from Coast Guard Station San Diego launched a 33-ft rescue boat after receiving a call for help from the crew of the Waterhorse charter vessel.
Witnesses said the crew made the mayday call from a dive site about seven miles southwest of the Mexican border shortly after noon today when the injured diver fell unconscious.
The Coast Guard rescue vessel took the scuba diving accident victim to San Diego where EMS paramedics rushed the scuba diving accident victim to hospital.
According to hospital officials, the unidentified diver is in good condition and expected to fully recover.
An identified diver who fell on unconscouse while scuba diving with the San Diego-based Waterhorse charter vessel, Humboldt, was medevaced to hospital.
