United adds new flights to Mexico, Caribbean scuba diving destinations

CHICAGO, Illinois (1 Aug 2005) -- United Airlines has announced it will add flights to eight popular scuba diving destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean starting on December 15, 2005.

The new service will increase flights from Washington DC, Chicago and Denver to the Bahamas, Montego Bay, Punta Cana, St. Maarten, Aruba, St. Thomas, Cozumel and Cabo San Lucas.

United's new flights to some of the most popular scuba diving destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean include the following:

From Chicago to:

  • Montego Bay, Jamaica -- United will offer three flights. (Wed, Sat, Sun)
  • St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands -- United will add one additional flight to its current Saturday and Sunday schedule.  (Tue, Sat, Sun)
  • Los Cabos (Cabo San Lucas), Mexico* -- United plans to offer four new flights for the winter season. (Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun) Weekend service will begin Oct. 15, 2005. (Sat, Sun) Tickets available for sale on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005.

From Denver to:

  • Cozumel, Mexico -- United will offer new weekly Saturday service.
  • Los Cabos (Cabo San Lucas), Mexico -- United will offer three additional flights to last winter's Saturday-only schedule.  (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat)

From Dulles to:

  • Aruba, Netherlands -- United will offer three additional flights to its current Saturday-only flight.  (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat)
  • Montego Bay, Jamaica* -- United plans to offer five new flights. (Sun, Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri.
  • Nassau, Bahamas* -- United plans to offer four new flights. (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat)
  • Punta Cana, Dominican Republic* -- United plans to offer four new flights. (Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun)
  • St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles* -- United plans to offer two new flights. (Wed, Sat)
  • St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands -- United will offer two additional flights to its current Saturday and Sunday service. (Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun)

*Subject to government approval.
