NARATHIWAT, Thailand (31 Aug 2005) -- One tourist was among 15 injured in three simultaneous bomb blasts that ripped through two hotels and a karaoke bar at about 8:30pm on Wednesday.

Police said militants used mobile phones to detonate three bombs in Sungai Kolok.

The Plaza Hotel and the Genting Hotel were damaged in the blasts.

The tourist was wounded in the stomach by shrapnel.

At about the same time, militants gunned down and killed Sergeant Pholawat Nootapong, 48, a police officer in Nongchik.
