No sign of missing California woman who vanished in St. Maarten

January 22, 2008

ST. MAARTEN — One week after an American tourist disappeared in the Dutch Caribbean territory of St. Maarten, police still have no leads.

Leta Lynn Cordes, 49, of Mission Viejo, California, was last seen alone in a casino on Friday night.

Her husband reported her missing the following day.

Friends and relatives said Cordes and her husband often visit St. Maarten, which they consider a second home.

Police said they have been searching with trained dogs but have found no trace of the missing woman.
