Canadian woman stabbed to death off Cancun

ISLA MUJERES, Cancun — A Canadian woman was murdered on an island off the Cancun coast.

Authorities have not released the identity of the murder victim but told CDNN a 60-year-old woman was found in her condo on Isla Mujeres with multiple stab wounds and her throat cut.

Police said a 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the woman's murder.

Isla Mujeres is located about 13 kilometers northeast of Cancun, a popular holiday destination for scuba divers.
