Auckland woman dies scuba diving at Doubtless Bay

DOUBTLESS BAY, New Zealand (1 Jan 2004) -- An Auckland woman died scuba diving off Knuckle Point yesterday afternoon.

Kaitaia police told CDNN local divers recovered the body and scuba equipment of the 40-year-old diver about 5:00 pm.

Authorities are investigating the accident to determine the exact cause of death.

 

Doubtless Bay is one of New Zealand's most popular diving areas.
