FORTHAMPTON, UK (17 Oct 2004) -- A commercial scuba diver has died in hospital after he was trapped under water while doing routine maintenance on a canal lock. The diver was airlifted to Cheltenham General Hospital after a colleague pulled him from the water at Upper Lode Lock, Forthampton near Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire.
