FUJAIRA, UAE (4 Dec 2004) -- The parents of a teenager who died scuba diving in the United Arab Emirates have filed a wrongful death suit against their son's employer.

Adrian and Janet Kneen are suing Scuba International, the PADI dive center in Fujaira where their 19-year-old son Christopher worked, and Doosan Heavy Industries.

In April 2004, Christopher Kneen died after being sucked into a pipe at a desalination plant operated by Doosan Heavy Industries.

According to unconfirmed reports, Scuba International sent Kneen to do underwater repair work at the plant although he had neither training nor qualifications as a commercial diver.
